Palermo Perfection....

Olivia always looks so put together no matter how casual her outfit.  I would love to be able to achieve such a feat. She is such a classy lady, and it speaks volumes that she is generally well regarded by the fashion industry and the media, indicating to me that she may well be a kind and warm person despite the portrayal of her as the bitch on The City.

She always looks amazing when she's dolled up for events but makes sure to maintain her glam look during the day too. Here are a few of my favourite dressed down Olivia looks.

U.G.L.Y you ain't got no alibi......

I don't mean any offence, some very stylish people are fans of creepers and Doc Martens  (including one of favourite bloggers of all time Karen)  but i wouldn't even let Prince Charming slip one of those shoes on to my foot.....ever....... even if said Prince Charming was disguised as George Clooney. And i would do almost anything for George Clooney!
The only word that describes these shoesies is the ugly word - ugly. Especially the creepers, frankly i find them creepy.
I may live to eat my words shoes, as Prada have reinvented the creeper for Spring/Summer '11. Who knows they might be all the rage next year and i might succumb (highly unlikely) ahem did someone say fashion victim....who me?....never!!

Zaralicious

Seriously love this outfit.........the best thing is the bag and scarf are both from Zara. Fair play Olivia, she loves to mix the high street with the high end.

Vanessa Hudgen's take on festival chic at the Coachella festival. If only we could rock up to an Irish music fest like this....stunning. Sadly the Irish weather is never co-operative with our desire to look effortlessly hippyesque while enjoying the music at Electric Picnic or Oxegen.
We must adapt.

the jumpsuit jump

Love them or hate them, the jumpsuit or his little sis the playsuit are back around for summer. Pattern and colour work well on the playsuit but when it comes to the leggier jumpsuit, my view is keep it simple.... presenting the LBJ (little black jumpsuit!!) seen modelled by a myriad of stylish celebs recently including my top 2 style icons Ms Palermo ans Ms Miller....

This City Gal

I could never live in the countryside. I love the hustle and bustle and the energy of city living. My favourite type of holiday is a city break, most recently I have visited Stockholm, Sweden and Krakow, Poland . At the end of this month I have a trip planned to Barcelona, Spain.
My favourite cities I have been to are New York , San Francisco, London and Paris. I am determined to live in either Paris or NYC for a while!

Photoshop fun ?

I could never be a Graphic Designer , I can barely grasp photoshop.
Here is a 1st attempt:

Pathetic I know, hoping I will get the hang of it!

Flower Child

Recently I watched the film Dazed and Confused, a coming of age comedy set in the 70's starring a young Ben Affleck, Matthew Mc Connaughey and Milla Jovovich (pictured above !) It was actually quite hilarious and reminded me how much I like 'that 70's style'. One of my favourite films is Almost Famous, both for the soundtrack and the wardrobe. Kate Hudson's character Penny Lane's style is incredible!

Fashion Houses like Missoni and Chloé have long had a 70's vibe. Now everyone has caught on and 70's style has arrived for spring summer '11. I can't wait to try out an updated version of the this trend.
The 70's was the era where anything goes. Mini, midi or maxi skirts, bellbottoms and flares, culottes and hotpants, halterneck jumpsuits, kimonos, gypsy tops, crochet knits. All accessorised with chunky platforms and headbands!
The modern take on 70's style is less boho hippie and more glam.... for an everyday updated look integrate one or two key pieces into your outfit!
